Three more Maybank esteemed customer earn trips to Maybank Malaysian Open 2014
Indonesia, March 4, 2014 - The second round of the Maybank Corporate Challenge was held at the Damai Indah Golf’s BSD Course, Indonesia on March 1, just two weeks after the successful first round was held at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Couse.
The second leg saw three more winners earning dream trips to the Maybank Malaysian Open 2014.
Following in the footsteps of Frank Koh, Raymond Chia and Moses Song who earned their tickets from Singapore, the Indonesian leg was just as keenly contested with BII Maybank’s esteemed customers battling it out for the three available slots to Malaysia.
After a captivating and tight contest at Damai Indah, the trio of Jalius (handicap 12), Jack Ng (handicap 13) and Ari Bawana Santoso (handicap 24) earned their dream flight to the Maybank Malaysian Open 2014 in April.
Six other golfers will get the opportunity to earn their slots in this exclusive tournament from the other regional events in the Philippines and Malaysia.
They will earn special invitations to experience the Maybank Malaysian Open 2014 ‘live’ at the exclusive Maybank Hospitality Marquee as well as a spot to play at the championship course in the Maybank Corporate Golf Day on April 21, 2014.
The Maybank Malaysian Open will be held from April 17-20, 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC).
To make the Indonesian leg extra special, three local professionals – Benny Kasiadi, Ian Andrew and Andik Maulaudin – joined Maybank Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor, and Maybank Group President and CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias, in a round of golf with the local golfers.
Tan Sri Dato’ Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor said: “This is the second leg of four challenging circuits planned for the year.
“To win at the challenging Damai Indah course is inspirational. It’s always nice to know that a select few of our customers could raise their game and the ‘tough got going’!”
Benny, whose father, Kasiadi, is the only local golfer to win the Indonesia Open, has the potential to follow in his father’s legendary footsteps.
The elder Kasiadi, who first learnt the game as a caddy, won the Indonesian Open in 1989. He follows his son’s career closely and sometimes acts as caddy and many believe Benny can make the grade at the highest level.
As such, it was good for the local golfers to have the opportunity to watch him in action up close and personal and perhaps earn a few tips to help them when they travel to Malaysia.
