Maybank Malaysian Open 2012 - Race to Dubai

The Race to Dubai is a golf event unlike any other. It spans the entire golf season and offers more prize money than any other golf tournament in the world. Extremely prestigious, comprising all events on The European Tour International Schedule including all European Tour tournaments, the Major Championships and the World Golf Championships (WGCs) ensuring that the cream of world golf can qualify for the end-of-season Dubai World Championship.

Each year the Race to Dubai will start with four successive tournaments in South Africa and The European International Schedule will see no fewer than nine hosting countries – South Africa, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Dubai, the United States, Malaysia, Portugal, Morocco and Spain – prior to the Masters Tournament taking place at Augusta National.

The race culminates with the Dubai World Championship (hence the name, Race to Dubai), where the leading players on the European money list compete to take a slice of a US$7,500,000 Bonus Pool. The top 15 players receive substantial cash prizes, with the $1,500,000 reserved for the overall winner.
