Steven Tan grabber the one remaining spot available to a local golfer to play in the Maybank Malaysian Open 2007 carding a four under 68 to win the national qualifying round at the Bukit Kemuning Golf and Country Club o 24th February 2007. Steven finished one stroke ahead of fellow golfer Mohd Hanafiah Jamil to earn a second consecutive appearance in the prestigious Home Open, which will be played at Saujana Golf and Country Club from February 8 – 11, 2007.

A total of 47 local professionals played during the national qualifier and only one spot was given to the champion of the qualifier.
